Countdown to Mardi Gras

Yes, this gin cocktail was born in a London bar, but it moved to New Orleans and became the toast of the town.

2 oz. Pimm's No. 1
3/4 oz. Cointreau
3/4 oz. Lime Juice
3-4 cucumber slices
1 bunch mint
Lemon-Lime Soda

Combine the Pimm's, Liqueur, Juice, Cucumber and mint in a  Collins glass with ice, then stir gently.  Top with Lemon-Lime Soda or Ginger Beer.

(Substitute Ginger Ale, or better yet, Ginger Beer for a real zip of flavor.)

Hurricane Cocktail

Countdown to Mardi Gras.

The sweet and boozy concoction known as the hurricane is a popular drink in America's #1 party town - New Orleans.

1 oz. dark rum
1 oz. light rum
1 tbsp. passion fruit flavored syrup
2 tbsp. lime juice
1 cup ice



Combine dark rum, light rum, passion fruit syrup, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
Add ice, cover and shake until chilled.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Optional:  Add 1 cup of lemon-lime carbonated beverage.

Careful, goes down easy but packs a serious punch.

Southern Belle Cosmo

Island Toy

Ingredients:

1 oz. Spiced Rum
1/4 oz. Peach Liqueur
1/4 oz. Lime Juice
4 oz. Pineapple Juice

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a highball glass filled with ice cubes.  Stir well, and serve.

Mountain Breeze

1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Cranberry Juice
1/2 oz. Rum
1/2 oz. Tequila
1 1/2 oz. sweet and sour mix
1/2 oz. grapefruit juice

Build ingredients over ice in a hurricane glass, shake and garnish with a lime, lemon or orange wedge.

Heartbreaker

Happy Valentine's Day!

2 oz. Hpnotiq
2 oz. raspberry vodka
Splash of grenadine
Splash of club soda
Garnish:  Heart-shaped ring pop

Combine liquor and liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into glass. Top with soda.  Garnish with heart-shaped ring pop.

Swedish Kiss

2 oz. (®Purity) vodka
3/4 oz. white crème de cacao
1/2 oz. water
Garnish:  Strawberry

Combine all ingredients in a glass and stir.  Garnish with a strawberry.

French Kiss

3/4 oz. Chambord
3/4 oz. peach schnapps
3/4 oz. vodka
splash orange juice
splash pineapple juice
splash cranberry juice

Serve straight up in a martini glass.

Wintry Hot Toddy

Ski Lift

The Ski Lift drink takes you to the tropics while still enjoying a warming drink.  As opposed to the mints and dark flavors that are usually paired with hot chocolate, this recipe goes fruity tropical with a blend of  peach and coconut. It's an absolutely different take on hot cocoa -- and 100% delicious.

Ingredients:
1 ounce peach schnapps
1 ounce coconut rum
Hot chocolate
Whipped cream

Preparation:

Pour the schnapps and rum into an Irish coffee glass.
Fill the glass with hot chocolate.
Top with whipped cream.
Sprinkle coconut flakes on top of whipped cream.

Costa Del Sol

Ingredients:

2 parts white rum
1 part sweet vermouth
1 part sugar syrup
1/2 parts lemon juice
3 parts club soda
Ice cubes

How to mix:

Fill up the Collins glass with ice.  Pour lemon juice, sugar syrup, sweet vermouth, white rum into the glass. Stir together.  Fill up the glass with club soda.  Garnish with lemon wheel.

1 part GuS Dry Meyer Lemon
1 part GuS Dry Valencia Orange
2 parts Ketel One Vodka
1/2 part Dry Vermouth
1 teaspoon of sugar
Splash of lime juice
Orange Twist

Mix vodka, vermouth, lime juice, sugar, and ice in a cocktail shaker.
Pour into a chilled martini glass and top with GuS Soda.
Garnish with an orange twist.

1 oz. White Crème de Cacao
1 oz. Patron XO Café liqueur
1 oz. strong coffee

Pour everything over ice and shake to chill.
