It's St. Patrick's Day

The Irish punch-

2 fifths Irish whiskey
1 pint fresh lemon juice
1/2 pint Irish Mist liqueur
2 qts. club soda (or 1 qt. club soda and 1 quart tea)

Mix all ingredients in a large punch bowl. About 30 minutes before serving, add large pieces or a cake of ice. Gently stir immediately before serving.
Garnish the punch with maraschino cherries, orange and lemon slices and pineapple that has been diced or cut into sticks.
This recipe will yield about 30 servings - about 4 oz. per serving. Melting ice will increase the number of servings, but don't let the punch get watery. Actually, it is best to have all the ingredients prechilled before making the punch to retard the melting of ice.

Hot Irish-

(good on cold Winter days)
2 tsp. sugar (preferably brown sugar)
1/2 slice fresh lemon (cut thick)
4 cloves
Pinch of cinammon
1 measure of Irish whiskey

Stud the lemon slice with cloves. Put the lemon, sugar and cinammon into a warmed, stemmed glass. Add boiling water and the whiskey. Stir well and serve.

Kennedy crush-

Fill a tall glass with crushed ice. Add a dash of bitters. Add a teaspoon of sugar for a sweeter drink. Pour in 1 1/2 oz. of Irish whiskey. Squeeze a piece of lemon in glass and fill with 7-Up.
